i'm listening to Carrie Underwood's new cd and a song came on about how her fiance died. (i think it was her fiance, maybe it was her husband, idk) but it really made me think.

we think we have forever with our friends, families, and lovers. BUT WE DON'T.

in Carrie's song, she says "Baby why'd you leave me? Why'd you have to go? I was counting on

Thanks girl it really does mean a lot to me! I am trying so hard and have just come to realize that once I actually devote things to God and give up the things that have an unhealthy hold in my life he either gives me ten times more of the affection I once got with earthly things (boys) or ten times the satisfaction (things in general.) ever since I fully devoted my life to HIM, every aspect, my relationship with my parents, ryan, friends, boys, mind, thoughts, attitude on life, my time, energy, exercise, even eating, I have found nothing but perfect contentment and it has only been like 4 days. The hardest part for me of true devotion was starting it but once I gave up one thing I thought mattered, I realized it truly didnt because God provided. I dont know if you are in this place or not, maybe you are in a different capacity, just know that although things are hard to give up, God's ways of filling that "hole" are one hundred times more satisfying

i know what you mean. its something i constantly struggle with but i've learned that i need to get up every morning and dedicate that day to the Lord otherwise i get lost in the busy-ness of life and i try to control everything in my life. God really does come through when we let Him. and i think thats the key, we need to give it all to the Lord, He has given us control over our lives to a certain extent, being able to take our life in whatever direction we choose but when we choose to give it to Him he directs us in the right way.
