Great chapter! Too many "heavy" lines to recollect everything and write what exactly I liked that much though ^^"
And it's spelled Nietzsche, ftr, just in case you're using the name again in later chapters :)

It's so nice to be waiting for chapters again!

PS: Nietzsche for the win!!! I love that man...in fact...I was reading one of his essay compilations before reading this chapter. XDD Life's funny that way.

Love this!! I really like your portrayal of the relationship between Joker and Alfred -- kind of like the father-figure struggling to understand his son's tragic taste in lovers.
Oh, and JOKER NEEDS A NAME!
I know there's some disagreement about his real name in the comics, but I think he was called "Jack" at one point, but it's hard to remember anything I might have learnt in my boyhood...
Maybe Batty-Bat-Bat could name him? I think someone alrready suggested this, and it's a good idea, maybe.
Well, you girls are doing an awesome job keeping us all so interested by this story, forty-nine chapters in -- that's quite an achievement!!

I don't think TDK Joker is supposed to be known as anything other than "The Joker" really So I think it's great that they haven't given him any other name in this story despite revealing his past. And you know that alone is something that can usually even make me stop reading a fic...I really don't like Joker to have a past. It's part of his character, especially in TDK. But Entropy is special ;)
I actually believe the Jack name comes from the first Tim Burton Batman movie...Jack Nicholson wouldn't do the film if the Joker's name wasn't really Jack in the film :/ Yeah I don't think it makes any sense.
In the comics I think he's always just called Joker...but I could be wrong about that.

I thought his actual name in the some of the comics and in the animated series was Jack Napier? Not sure though...

I could be wrong but I think he was referred to as Jack in "Lovers and Madmen", in one of the many, many Joker origin stories. I think the origin story that is considered to be the most 'canon' is The Killing Joke and his name isn't revealed in that.

In my head, I always think of him as Jack. Not cos of the Tim Burton film (shockingly, I've never seen it and I am too obsessed with Heath!Joker to accept anything else on film) just because it's such a standard, kind of anonymous name. Does that make sense?

I dislike his name being Jack. Muchly. With burning Hat. So much Hat. The kind of Hat that strikes you blind upon perceiving it.

I REALLY think that it was the Burton movie that perpetuated him being so "accepted" as Jack Napier. I don't see that as fitting him at all - it just feels like another egotism spazz by Nicholson. And really, does it matter what his name originally was? Whoever he was in the beginning was destroyed. He obviously went through some sort of crucible and didn't come out in one piece on the other side. Whatever his original label was got burned up with major portions of his sanity. Joker is who he is now.

Deeeeeeear Miss Loonyz,

I might not be able to get online tonight due to unforeseen change of plans, and you is not on AIM. Please to be giving me a call later. Or I'll give you a call if my leaky memory allows me to retain enough thought to do so.
