it's a good thing i made it to work today on time this morning at 8:00am, despite last night's drinking shanagans, because there is absolutely no one here, and almost everyone is taking the day off.

god, i feel like a sucker.

That's happened to me a lot recently... I've been early when I thought I was starting my shift earlier than I actually was, or something along those lines... and late on our busiest days.

Where are you working?

ahhhh the timing of things. that sucks when that happens.

i'm working in the Embarcadero Center, at a European financial firm. how unartsy is that!? oh, the joys of the 'real world'. i will say, the people i work with rock and the pay rocks too, so i can't complain really.

where are you working? are you graduating this semester?

I'm working at a place called Memento Press in Crocker Galleria. It pays well and it's not awful, but it's just part time and the hours aren't dependable. They hired me for Christmas mostly, so I don't know if I'll even get to keep it very long.

I just graduated in the fall semester, so I'm looking for something full-time now. Like you, I'll probably end up doing something not art-related. I'll take anything that pays decently right now.

Congratulations on graduating!!! i've officially been out a year now. damn, it feels good. life has only gotten better.

yeah, i tried for sooooo long to get an artsy job that has a decent pay. i was pretty close to getting a job at the SFMOMA because of a good contact, but it ended up not working out. hopefully that works out for you.

honestly though, i was pretty against working in the financial district or Corporate America, but so far, it's been pretty good. i never thought i would be concerned about vacation days and benefits (oh geez). i started working for a temp-agency, and this was my first job. they ended up hiring me on permanent. the pay is more than decent, so i'm happy.

good luck on your search!
