The autism discussion at the ALF headquarters tonight on Second Life was the best real-time interaction experience I've had in a long time. The major social anxiety faded early on, and the interaction pattern was easy from there. I signed up to volunteer at the library by helping with shelving yesterday. I just received an e-mail telling me that all volunteers must go through a formal screening process and that "a minimum of two references may be contacted." Spinach does not cure autism. The fact that an autistic child is both eating spinach and developing does not make it so. -
