awww!! nice!!! so fluffy!! the begining was great. That it turned out to be justin was good; i think i would've been disappointed if it'd turned out to be someone else, but the ghosts were a nice surprise. draco was so cutely adorable in this fic, and harry, well, was very harry. thouraghally enjoyed it! was a very refreshing harry/draco. look foward to reading anything else you write!

Now I'm imagining Neville emerging from the shower with, let's say, quite some surprise. *laughs*

I've been looking for decent H/D for months, or decent HP fic at all. This is exactly what I've sought. I absolutely love your Harry, and hackthis wasn't lying when she mentioned the lovely amounts of Neville. He was wonderful. On top of that, I believe this is the best Draco-sees-error-of-ways-and-turns-to-Dumbledore fic, ever. You've touched upon all the little things that everyone seems to leave out, the details that seem so apparent once you weave them into the plot. All of Draco's concerns, all of Dumbledore's precautions, are so perfectly crafted. I especially liked the touch where Draco worries that his memory has been modified; he'd have no way of knowing. So often, these details are left out, and your attention to them make this fic all the more enjoyable ( ... )

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh, I'm glad you found Justin pitiful too -- I do feel so bad for him. You're right about Snape -- he should have known that Draco was kosher, but he's just so congenitally suspicious that he kept right on looking for the catch the whole time. He has had some extremely unpleasant experiences with Voldemort himself, to be fair to him, and he wasn't able to escape quite so fortuitously, so his mind boggled at the possibility that Draco had been so damned lucky.

Oh. Mygod. This was fucking FABulous, I've sat up for hours reading the whole thing and my eyes are all red and watery now, but I don't care, because you rule. This was just amazing...seriously may top out my faborite fics list. Just so much depth and care in every detail, and perfect characterization...I'm all kerfluffled, can't think straight to give decent feedback, but let it be known that you kick ass. I usually try not to rec the p0rn to my sister, even though I know she reads it, but I will totally break that rule on this one.

Thank you! Oh, hurrah!

Well, that's me complimented to death. Yay! Totally chuffed that you liked it, although I do feel guilty about the eye strain.

It was a fabulous read. I did think Draco took Justin's betrayal a bit too easily, however. But perhaps Draco's vulnerability at the end shows this in a more subtle fashion. I suppose I feel the betrayal so deeply that I expect him to react as I would.

And Harry....This is exactly how I think Harry would be...crazy in love. But only with Draco. *grins*

I agree about Draco, actually -- I am, quite possibly, guilty of badness in giving him the quick fix of the Lethe distillate to try to numb the pain, because the poor lad has already got such atrocious trust issues that Justin's betrayal would have ripped his heart out. FWIW, though, I'm perfectly sure they won't have an easy happily ever after -- Draco is a mess, emotionally, and about as skittish as one can possibly be. Harry has a shedload of power which nothing in his experience has prepared him to control responsibly. I'm very worried about both of them, truth to tell.

...as a result of which, plot bunnies are eating my brain and there may be a sequel. But not for ages.

For what it's worth, I would dearly like to see those difficulties dealt with; they so rarely are, in fic, and you handled this first installment so splendidly. Draco in subspace just clicked (I just e-mailed EQ about your fic, as she has a fondness for school ties, and let me digress and say that I was so pleased that D could have gotten himself off the hook, as it were, but chose to stay on), Neville was intriguing with his distaste for practical jokes and his later development, Harry has his power that he'll have to master (I was fascinated by those passages)... and Justin, well, he was understandable and enticing and scary all in one, and I don't doubt that he's left his mark on Draco just as much as the Dark Mark; it'll take some scouring to fade them both. I did suspect J fairly early on, but didn't expect the ghosts at all; the combination was wonderful. It was interesting getting the sense, later, that even if Justin hadn't been Bad, once D had had enough touching, he probably would have been bored; I'm one who felt that J was ( ... )

Oh, yes, and Draco renegotiating Slytherin life and his social circles. Fabulous. I particularly liked how he was uncertain in the initial confrontations especially, but he bluffed on anyway (whether or not it did him a service in the end), rather than just retaining his arrogance devoid of vulnerability. (And while we're at it, I'm so glad Narcissa died off-cam. Non-gratuitous and all the more potent this way.)

Oh, whee. Poor wounded Draco. And Harry, who won't let him stay wounded long. Damn, but I want the scene in the Great Hall where Harry strolls right up to him and gives him a big kiss, then yells, "So, there!" at the gathered crowd.

And Neville! Who just glared at Justin and made Justin crack!

Now to copy it onto my hard drive so I can keep it forever and ever.
