I don't want you to take the userpic I chose for this comment the wrong way. It's the only one I currently have that conveys deep confusion. I am very aware that I can be quite dense at times, but I'm not following your drabble here. What crowd was Harry in front of? At first, I thought it was a real crowd of witches and wizards, and then I thought maybe "the crowd" was just all of the Weasleys assembled for an evening. Now, I'm back to thinking it was actually a public gathering of wizards and witches. Did this retelling of the "toad" poem in the form of song preface anything else, like a marriage proposal to Ginny? When "he [had been] work[ing] tireless hours with Ginny preparing for the moment", was that all subterfuge so that she wouldn't expect the "toad" poem/song, or did Harry still give the speech they'd worked on together after the "toad" poem/song? I did get the humor of performing the poem as a song publicly with an invisible chorus backing up Harry's "ribbit"'s, but the rest of it is lost on me, I'm sorry to say.

First of all, I think you are over thinking this. It's a drabble. I have 100 words. I thought I made it very clear (perhaps I was mistaken). On the anniversary of the Final Battle, Harry gives a speech. Why? Because he's the frickin savior. Anyway, it's right there in the first sentence. When he starts to speak, he can't, the chorus follows, etc. Then afterwards Ginny yells. Not rocket science.
The toad thing is to make Ginny mad too. It's just supposed to be funny.
lmao I always love when author make that come back up to embarrass her because come on thats just funny and it's something a girl would look back on and be like why did I do that lol
