"It's been...50 years...50 long years, since I've done this. Looking back on what I said all those years ago, all the hopes and dreams I had, I've come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the way you wanted them to as a measure of a successful life, then...some would say I'm a failure.

you know fran, seeing what you put in your post just helped me soooo much now in the situation i'm in. its like that speech is so inspiring to me. i thank you so much for putting that up. even though its from onetreehill, whitey has always been a very wise and deep person and i just needed something like that now. thanks fran.
