It was Jessica's birthday yesterday, so I agreed to get out of the house and go shopping because she wanted to. Got bored pretty quick so I wandered over to the software area. There were a lot of games that I have not played, been so busy with school. Makes me sad to be sad far separated from what used to be my #1 activity. Over the break I'll ( Read more... )

Yeah maybe. I've been thinking of firing it back up and doing some PvP, but there is one huge thing stopping me: you can't play with your friends unless you start your characters on the same server and the same side.

There are a bunch of people I want to play with, but they're on 4 or 5 different servers and you can't transfer characters. I would absolutely play again if we could freely transfer characters between realms.

It's alright. It seems to have the same issues that Guild Wars does, though. That is, pretty much all the action areas are instanced, meaning you can't run into or interact with people unless you bring them into the quest with you.

This seems to be the aim of the developers though, since small party mechanics is the essence of D&D. The quests feel much more like real quests or modules than the tasks you get in other games like WoW, or even Guild Wars (though Guild Wars is better about this).

It would probably be pretty damn fun for a small group of people to play together. But it almost feels like an offline game, and it might even be a better offline game than on. *shrug*

TL;DR: It's alright.
