Shit.

Today our idiot president acknowledged that our economy is about to crash.  He actually admitted that something is wrong.  That means we are so far past wrong that we can't even see wrong anymore.  We are screwed.  I'm not gonna lie, I'm scared shitless.  I picked a great time to go to grad school and put myself $50,000 into debt, eh?

Don't worry, Erika. If it helps, remember that you're not alone: there are thousands of students in the same boat as you, and when there are that many people together in the same situation, it'll all work out. For now, keep on doing your work and don't let this get in the way of your grades *hugs*

Now excuse me while I sit on my island ringing my bell!

I would say you picked a great time to go into debt. You probably got the best deal on a loan that there will be for the next several years. Your future is about the only commodity worth investing in right now. (And corn. Corn is doing well.)

Yeah, but I've still got at least 3 more years of loans. And I read a report that since America's credit is shrinking, loans may not even be available to students after this semester. So unless my department is feeling awfully generous... (which, granted, they may be *crosses fingers*).

Well damn, then I moved out of the wrong state lol.

Have you seen any of the Sarah Palin interviews? It scares the hell out of me that I am smarter than a potential vice president...

Oh, I didn't understand that. Well, I am trying to figure out all this crap, like everyone else, but it's hard for me to believe that after the initial panic ends, there won't be student-loan money. That's one place I can really see the government stepping up. It's easy for me to say, but you have to have student loans to get an employed, tax-paying populace, whereas you don't have to have cheap mortgages. But perhaps we should mention it to our Congresspeople!

A rock is smarter than Sarah Palin. Her becoming VP, and possibly President, is the only thing scarier than the Wall Street meltdown. And her being Prez DURING a recession? Start packing your bags for Canada. I am looking forward to seeing her look like a complete fool on Thursday

A bunch of my friends and I are heading out to a cafe (that serves alcohol lol) on Thursday night. I am so stoked to Biden rip her apart. It will be glorious.

If you have a spare second, I highly suggest you head over to youtube and track down the Tina Fey/Amy Pohler SNL clips making fun of Palin. I firmly believe Tina Fey's sole purpose for existence is to parody Sarah Palin. She is fantastically dead-on!
