Today our idiot president acknowledged that our economy is about to crash.  He actually admitted that something is wrong.  That means we are so far past wrong that we can't even see wrong anymore.  We are screwed.  I'm not gonna lie, I'm scared shitless.  I picked a great time to go to grad school and put myself $50,000 into debt, eh?

It's been a while since I've written.  Last month I took a 10 day holiday out west to Boulder, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, the SD Badlands, and home.  And then three weeks later I moved halfway across the country to Boulder!  Today was my first day of orientation (which was pretty much just information that those of us who read ( Read more... )

Whoa. It's been nearly three months since the last time I logged onto LJ.  I miss divulging my thoughts into cyberworld.

This semester has been pretty crazy, just trying to keep up with everything.  I thought I had picked out 3 easy classes and 1 hard class, but I managed to end up with 4 hard classes and an extra 20-page research paper.  Oh well ( Read more... )

Last night was my beloved Cobra Starship concert, which also ranks as one of the best experiences of my life.  This month seems to be rife with them!  They played the opening set; only five songs, but five of their best songs.  Afterward, they hung around in the back and signed stuff for fans.  I met 4/5 of the band; the drummer proved too elusive ( Read more... )

My retake of the General GRE has put me in a better mood than I've been in for months, maybe even a year. I improved my verbal score by 40 points (raising it from a 600, which was my goal). My math score dropped considerably (from 600 to 520), but I don't think it will matter in the eyes of my prospective graduate schools since they'll see both ( Read more... )
