Little Girls

Alice lost her first tooth this week. One more step on the road to being a big girl. We did the whole tooth fairy thing. I made a few comments letting her know that it was pretend, but she resolutely ignored me. You could tell she knew it was pretend and liked pretending. I'm okay with that. Awww, that's the first picture I've seen of Fiona since she was a neonate. She's an adorable baby! And Alice is such a cute, spunky kid. I think she knows she has an awesome mom. :)

Fiona has hit the human equivalent of the fluffy, blue-eyed kitten stage. :) She's laughing and chattering to us a lot, trying out all the noises she can make and doing this most heart melting move: when you're holding her, she puts one arm around your shoulder and then, when someone else makes her laugh, grabs you with the other arm, buries her face in your shoulder and squeals with laughter. It makes you feel like you're in a joke together--pretty great!

Alice just gets smarter and more fun. She's big enough to be in on the joke most of the time now, and she's making jokes of her own all the time, like when she called Fiona's stuffed hippo (most notable for its weirdly protruding nostrils) "the mayor of Nostriltown."
