Anniversary
This Saturday is Alex's and my 10th wedding anniversary. We decided to finally buy ourselves wedding bands. Here are the ones we ordered, handmade by Elizabeth Scott Designs. Aren't they pretty? She has a lot of "botanical" jewelry, including rings that are "birch bark" and "pine bark." The "shoreline" seemed right for me and Alex, though.

Art
Thought I'd post a few images of the art I've been working on lately. I'm really loving sculpting clay and, especially, raku firing said sculptures. It's incredibly fun--smoke, fire, labor, cooperation, yelling--really a nice little Sunday activity. :) So, here's one of my little raku sculptures. I don't have a title for her. Birthdays Party
The Mad Tea Party is happening next Saturday night, August 29 at Mistie and Ryan's at around 8 p.m. There will be food and drink out of handmade tea cups you can keep. Some of us will be wearing funny hats. Some of us will not be drinking tea ( Read more... ) -

A new literary magazine launched today. The magazine publishes mostly nonfiction and features several poems by each of three poets: Jae Newman, David Tipton and me. I am honored to be in such good company; Jae and David are two of my favorite poets.

Shaking Like a Mountain
I have a poem in the anniversary issue of the ezine Shaking Like a Mountain. They publish poems and stories inspired by music. Keys
Even though she's been gone from the Keys house for a long while now, it's a little sad to be at Nanny Pie's house without Nanny Pie. It is, however, great to be in the Keys, great to be on vacation and great to be with mi familia.
