This took quite some time, but mainly because I wanted to be sure this chapter was the best it could be. It's the moment we've been waiting for; what the heck is Layton up to and what is Luke hiding? ...But, is it kinda sad that I laughed during Luke's flashback? I don't know why, I think I just felt kinda overjoyed at Layton adopting Luke, even though it was quite depressing... I dunno >_

thank you and wow, you were really charged up from this huh? Yeah, the flashback was really sad, but i wanted ppl to feel that joy that Layton had adopted Luke, the apprentice is now his son, and then realize that in learning he had no longer been an orphan, he had also been made one again.

Tragic to realize you're not mourning your mentor anymore, you're mourning your father... so it's a bittersweet thing.

I sniggered that Fidget is now the Professor's lawyer XD That's awesome (although, is he going to die in this timeline? ;_;). But man all the emotion in this chapter! It's so great - it's also sad to see all the miscommunication and the heartache that's happening but maaaan is it a brilliant set-up. Look forward to the next chapter! ♥

Of course, if Don Paolo gets his way, we won't have a Professor Layton, oh no no. We'll get someone far, FAR worse....

i really hoped i had everything going well, and its such a relief to hear that it is! Better than a movie? ^-^ I wish it was a movie! then i could watch all the flashbacks, lol

Yes, more events and as the countdown continues, the results get more and more dire, all in the name of the two time-travelers trying to establish a new future, one with Professor Layton, and one without.

Oh my! Such a lovely update - it was definitely worth the wait! (Of course, the wait was hardly that long - you work so hard! <3)

For awhile I was really afraid that it wouldn't be revealed to the reader what the contents of the letter were. And how surprising that was! I figured it would be from Don Paolo, but I didn't realize it would focus on Luke. Hmm...

I also wonder exactly what the pen-ultimate treasure of the Layton family is. I doubt it would be anything material...could it be Luke (since he's technically a Layton)? Well, something else for my mind to chew on. :)

I LOVE this! Awesome story! Poor Professor Layton and poor older Luke. So Professor Layton was killed so Paulo could have Luke. The plot thickens! Fantastic as usual!
