Tour Begins!

I was in Hartford, CT tonight for the first date on the American leg of the AMOLAD world tour. I'll be right up front on the most important thing about this tour. If you don't like A Matter Of Life And Death then THIS TOUR PROBABLY ISN'T FOR YOU.

Cut for your pleasure *spoilers* )

Did they change the songs at all, as in maybe they cut out some intros outros, or they were identical to the album's?

Everything was played exactly like the album. In fact, they only stopped for Bruce to talk for about a minute right before Out Of The Shadows. Otherwise, they played all of the songs back-to-back and in their entirety.

I look at it as a kick in the face to all of the American "fans"

I really wish they would have done this on the Dance of Death and Brave New World tours as well.

In any case, have a great time in December!

Ooh, I can't wait to see the stage design, that sounds fantastic! Also, I rather like the idea of playing through the full album, as with the usual set-up of having a handful of new tracks interspersed with archive songs means that there's always a new track you're desperate to hear live but they don't play. I remember Out of the Silent Planet was ignored on the BNW tour until the Shepherd's Bush gig, and that was one of my favourite tracks from that album.

In short: YAY! Can't wait for Sheffield. Any news yet on the support band(s) for the UK tour?

No word yet as far as I know. Dragonforce? :P hahah

I wish they would have done this for the BNW and DoD tours as well, but AMOLAD is certainly deserving. It made for a very dark and powerful show in the end.

Are you above LJ cuts for spoilers?

I'm not a believer in concert spoilers, so I didn't even think to cut it. It's now cut.

Next tour! ;) Considering that it'll be a revived World Slavery stage set-up, I doubt they'd overlook Aces High. Also, it'll be the tour for SIT and SSoaSS songs as well... Wasted Years is very likely.
