Julian is dead. Ev was the one who had to tell Col the news. She told him that Cristoff killed him to save Eva's life. I know she was telling the truth but i also know theres more to the story than that, that she gave Col the version he could handle. Not that he took it all that well. He was upset with his fathers death and then mad at himself

*looks up from the book she's reading in Michael's study when Isabella appears in the door, smiles at her*

hey, come on in. i was just doing some light reading.

*sets the heavy book down on an end table and motions for her to take the chair next to her*

*smiles and sits down. looks at the book, raises an eyebrow*

Light reading, huh?

*looks at watch*

Thought maybe I'd see if I could interest you in getting some coffee or something.

*looks at the copy of Faulkner's translation for the Book of the Dead and grins*

well, light to someone like me who actually reads stuff like this for pleasure and not because they have to.

*listens for a moment and looks at the clock on the mantle*

coffee could be a goodness, i haven't had any since...hmm, our last apocalypse. and it sounds like Michael and Peregrine are only on their first tennis match out back. were you wanting to go out? 'cause we could go down to the Espresso Pump, or i can have Miss Chris make us some?

Whichever you prefer. Cols gonna be busy for a while. sounds like so is Michael.

Any particular reason you havent had coffee since then?

*frowns at her*

what? no no, Evan wasn't sired by Angelus. it was Darla and Lindsey, or maybe just Lindsey? he's only from the same line, the Aurelian line, as Angelus is. Evan doesn't like Angel, at all.

*shrugs*

apparently he's happy quite often in this 'verse. although this last time wasn't his fault, some magic went wrong or something and all of the vamps were souled. when it was reversed, that kind of went wrong too, and we all lost them. and wait, that's not right, the part about the happiness clause. i remember Drac telling me that he tweaked y'all's curse and took out the happiness clause for them when they had to resoul him once.

*looks at her confused*

I thought Darla was dead. That Angel had staked her? So Evan comes from one of the vamps who finished off the rest on the camp when the clan elders wouldn't agree to reversing the curse?

*frowns*

He killed my cousin, Angelus did. Jenny and I used to spend summers together when we were really young. Then we exchanged letters when she was sent here to watch him. The news of what happened to Jenny and Enyos is what gave my Grams a heart attack. I know. I know that this stuff happened in my verse and not here. But it's gonna be hard keeping the two seperate. I'm just really surprised Izzy didn't say a word about this to me.

*looks over at Ev*

Col doesn't know about any of this. I mean he knew some stuff, the gypsy parts, and mostly my immediate family stuff, just minus the vamps and curses parts. I don't think he even knew about vamps before you came back. And with all the crap with Julian, I don't know if he's really digested that all this is real.

*thinks for a minute before answering

Yes Spike and Drusilla were with when the rest of the camp was taken out. After Jenny died and then Grams, I lost touch with any of the family still in the know about all this stuff. So I don't even know what happened in our world after that. It was weird when E...Col walk into my office and asked me to look for you. Looking into your records seeing that you lived in Sunnydale. It was like coming full circle in some ways. I went there. To our Sunnydale. Theres nothing left. In trying to track you down I talked to some people from there. I had heard the Spike had switched teams. I also went to LA, walked into Wolfram and Hart to talk to Angel. To see if he knew where I could find anyone who survived what happened in Sunnydale that might have known you. I hear he does good things. But its still weird. And a part of me thought if I brought myself to his attention, if Angelus ever appeared again

*smiles apologetically*

sorry, i didn't mean to offend you. some people freak a little the first time they come in here if they're not used to it.

*enters the bar with her and looks around*

it's not that crowded tonite, you want to grab a table and wait for a waitress, or get our own drinks from the bar?

It takes a lot to actually offend me. Annoy and irritate, maybe. But offend, no.

The bar sounds good to me. Faster service and all. So you said theres a no violence spell on this place? Maybe I should talk to the owner about how he managed that and get one on the Bronze. *in a discreet voice only Ev can hear* Can't turn a profit if your customers are on the buffet menu.

*sits up at the bar. waits for Ev to sit down*

Hey. I completely forgot, and one of the thing I was gonna talk to you about. Do you have any idea where your other brother is looking at houses. I swear before this is through we are gonna need a map with a grid and algebraic equations to make sure everyone is happy with their new houses.

*sits next to her and spots Ralph down at the end of the bar, gets his attention and smiles, motioning him over before turning back to Isabella*

hmm, where Evan's looking to buy? he hasn't said, but i'd expect closer to Eva's house. she's more needy than i am and believes Evan is more her brother than mine, so it's easier to apease her so the rest of us don't have to listen to her whine about it. but i bet you she already has a map with a grid and knows exactly what the halfway point between my house and hers is.
