[ some dead air and then a sigh, and a pause before... ]

Being in love sounds like it's an awful lot of work.

[ oh he's found girls pretty before and stuff, but now he's starting to think he'll leave it at thikning they're pretty and nothing more....gosh the things people will do...for 'love'... ]Though I suppose it's worth it, for the person, I ( Read more... )

Being in love is worth it. It's worth everything.

Maybe. It's just.... a lot of the people seem like they're going after...you know...other people who don't really feel the same.

Is it still worth it?

[ he isn't challenging in tone so much as genuinely curious, never having been in love as he's only 12, granted an oldish 12 but ah well ]

It might just be the day. You sound young and I actually try not to lie to kids. But, it's an easy answer.

It's very worth it. It's worth more than you can ever imagine. But, you have time. I'm guessing a lot of time.

I suppose that sort of thing should come after school anyway.

[ Conrad logic.... is not normal logic... necessarily. ]

But you've been in love then?

[There's that love thing again. He still doesn't understand it.]

Is love important? Some people talk like it is.

...well, I think love...I think it's important.

But I don't think everyone has it.

[ he is just guessing, just....he doesn't think his mum loves him for example.... and he doesn't think, when he considers it more, that she even loved his sister, and he can't remember her loving his father, so... and this is his main reference, HOWEVER... ]

A lot of people make it sound like something rather splendid though.

I don't. My friend tried to explain it to me, but...I don't get it. He says it's not friends, but it's not a step above friends either.

But why don't you think it's important?

So you shouldn't make big gestures?

Well they're not really in love, I think.

Good feelings are feelings, and they're worth everything.

That's a bit like what the other fellow said.

And I do like good feelings.

Well that's the whole point, isn't it? I mean, if you love someone that means they're different from everybody else... Not that I'm in love with anybody or anything.

That it's a lot of work? I sort of hope it's not always, but I'm not in love with anyone either. [ ew ] So.

king_kazma August 18 2010, 00:42:54 UTC
It probably depends. I wouldn't be a lot of work. Not that I'm, you know, interested. [also ew]

I don't think I'd be a lot of work either.

Well, I mean I wouldn't want to make someone do what I don't want to.

Christopher doesn't count.
