When I was really drunk, I got myself into a situation with a guy that turned pretty nasty quickly. He thought I was leading him on, but I was just too drunk not to do anything to fight him off. It was only because I hurt myself that I sobered up enough to get out of the room. It scared the crap out of me, especially because I had to spend the next 4 days with him, and I knew it could happen again.
I haven't seen him since, and no-one else knows.

Wow. I'm really glad you're okay and nothing happened in the days afterwards or since. Very lucky escape there *hugs*

Do you mean you've created some kind of ideal, romantically, and no one seems to be fulfilling the criteria you've set? No one seems good enough?

I can't be my old self because someone I dislike has happiness at my expense, and it hurts because I just want to be happy again.

Awww *hug* You deserve happiness & to be able to express yourself fully and honestly. We all deserve those things. You've just got to surround yourself with the right person, get rid of the "friends" who discourage you & drag you down and realise the beauty and potential in yourself. You'll be you and you'll be happy again :)

And right. Then I say to you what I said to the person below,

"You've got to think of things from his girlfriend's perspective. She just met a guy who she clicked with. If you were to intervene, you'd really hurt her and she's done nothing wrong. Instead, keep in touch with him but don't make a move. Be friendly and be accessible. Show him how much fun you can be and what a nice person you are :) Maintain contact and believe that one day, when he's available, you two will get together".
