i'd quit... or at least take some time off. i had three weeks off in the final bit of my 3rd year. best thing ever as you don't have to concentrate on anything except assignments.
health comes first. uni second. job third.
surely you could go out still with the people from work that you like? that means the socialising thing would be ok.
money... meh... maybe instead of quitting working altogether you could get just a saturday job in a shop (one that does 9-5!!) and just do saturdays, nothing else so that you're ok for money.

I think the issue with taking just three weeks off for me would be that by then, it'd be too late, I'd have thrown my degree away lol. I spoke to a couple of girls about it yesterday and we all decided that we'd make more of an effort to socialise outside of work if I left, one is only doing one shift a week now and working full time, and the only reason she is doing that shift is so that she can still see everyone.

Aaaaand, she offered me a job one day a week (normal proper retail hours) just looking after a bit of topshop that she manages. Woohoo, perfect.

Thank you for being so wise!

Uni is something that most people only get one crack at during their life. So, provided you actually enjoy your studies, it's worth sacrificing a few other things in order to get the best out of it.

That's the thing - I enjoy it when I do well (which I realise probably isn't a very healthy attitude to have...but anyway) and I perform best when I can give more time to it, and am not rundown because I'm not sleeping/eating/working stupidly.

I think you're right and I know I'd really regret it if I messed this year up.

Thanks for replying Laurafloor!

Yup I know you did! And I haven't read any of her...yet.

I read a toni morrison book this year (uh beloved?) and I have to say I didn't enjoy it. I'm looking forward to the module though, and I think having the contrast between shakespeare and contemporary will be good for me and my work (and hopefully magically help me get a 2:1)

*love*

ps. if I do my essay/exam on poppy z. brite will you do helping me? :D how does this best uni friend feel about helping me with jazz? :P
*subliminal messages: "hellllp sheoooona get a twoooooo ooooone"*

beloved sucks. it just really does... Of course I will help and I'm sure Laura will as well. Anything you need. if I've read it I can dig out useful journals and stuff...

/me pays tithe to the 2:1 gods
