[The exchanged answer messages give him something to work on, and he gets back to Bruce with a list of names of Greeters on duty that day, guards on duty that day, and an extremely short list of names given on the Network. Newcomers. Of these some are already crossed out, such as Cassandra Cain, Damian Wayne and several others whose identities are so unbelievable as to be believable. Zane's name is on the list, but Tim's is not--Clark doesn't know he's here.
There are photos of the crime scene, including Himawari's body draped in a bodysheet. There is a lot of blood, but most of it is blackened, or soaked into the ground--the Darkness has passed over. And a photograph of a sneaker print; a size nine.
He also sends a photograph from above. Satellite photos of the Port don't exist, but he can get an up to date appraisal of a crime scene from above himself, and it gives Bruce ideas of distances and cover.
He sends all this, and then he presses redial, and waits for Bruce to pick up.]

[ Bruce is sitting on the big huge computer chair, with the screens showing the different pieces of Clark's evidence. At his right hand is the footprint, left hand is filled from ceiling to table of pictures of the crime scene. And in his hand are the pages upon pages of Newcomers. ]
A man named Peter Petrelli talked about a possible suspect named Sylar. He says that the description fits his MO.
[ His fingers tap on the keys. Then swing around to look at Clark. ]
It's a possibility. You know Petrelli. [ Clark knows Spike, Spike lives with Peter. QED. ] Can you get more information?

He's an Avenger. You'd be better off sending Carrie than me.
[Though he could ask. If it's true, then Peter could be in danger, and they are friends.]
Bruce. The thing is, you're going to have to handle this one. As concerned as I am... [Pause. Okay--hit him with the theory:] You read the story about the generators, right? I think there could be something more to it.

I like stating the obvious--it makes me feel clever.
[But he's grossed out by that, and folds his arms a little defensively.]
Please don't suggest he's eating them. There were enough rumours flying around about that already, and I only ended up putting it in the article because if I hadn't, they would have rewrote it and put someone else's name in the byline.
I need names, and pictures.

Pretty small feet. Any DNA traces of any sort?
[ Nope, no thanks ever. ]

As is 'Sylar'. But Bruce isn't limiting his notions. He's not a terrible detective who gets fixated, damnit. ]
Come over. It's ridiculous talking to a phone when I know you can hear me.
[ He's in the Cave. ]

The photos I took are there in higher resolution. I needed to make them a little smaller to send them before.
What have you found out?

You're saying that it sounds like it's a cover-up. It's too convenient, especially with the drugs being planted.
[ He looks at Clark for a moment, then nods. ]
I'll ask Carrie. Do your job. [ As a reporter.
Also unsaid is: Don't get in too close. ]

Are you keeping files on everyone?

[He looks back up at the screen.]
Why does he take out the brain? Did he say?

He steals powers by stealing brains. I'm not exactly sure how that particular mechanism works.
