For the last month, I have been talking to Jake about getting a puppy or dog. I have never owned an animal larger than a parakeet in my whole life, but feel that I am potentially capable of taking care of a dog. We are both not ready for children in our life at this time (but yes, we do want them fairly soon, just not yet) and I feel that we have ( Read more... )

Did you know your avatar is NHK's (Japanese television company) mascot, Domo-kun? For the first time in my life I actually got to see Domo-kun on TV this past Friday. I was on a bus, and it had a TV at the front, tuned to NHK which happened to be having some kid's show featuring the one and only fuzzy brown rectangle-monster himself. I think it was about cleaning up after you make a mess... Domo-kun was trashing the house and got scolded, it seems.

Yea, I found a shirt with domo kun on it at some website www.jlist.com and bought it for jake for his birthday last year. It was just some banner ad and it looked funny so I clicked on it, if you check out one of my past entries, I have a link to another site that sells those shirts, I WANT ONE!!! especially the one where domo kun's whole face takes up the shirt!

He is pretty cool, especially the blocky lego version of him, it is even cuter!! I checked him out on line and realized that he was a tv character, I totally want to see that show, is it any good?

Woah, that shirt ROCKS! I want one, too! I wonder if a place like Hot Topic may have it? They often have great shirts with stuff like that.

Maybe we can be the Domo-kun twins if we can get our hands on a pair ^^. I haven't actually seen a whole lot of stuff with him on it here in his homeland, but I'll keep my eye out more. Maybe I've just been missing it since I haven't been paying attention. I do pass a big glass-encased poster of him whenever I walk along one street that the local NHK tower/building is located by.

To be honest the show was pretty bad... but it was a kid's show. So maybe cool for kids but a bit too kiddy-esque for adults.
