Ah, it's almost the seventh, isn't it? ... That means that by this time back home, we'd be having Tanabata festivals already.

[ Her voice sounds just as usual - pretty casual - deadpan, even. But suddenly there's a hint of something else in it too, perhaps slight bitterness if you listen closely enough and look through the first layer of deadpan

They had festivals for it back home at some places. I doubt it's anything worth bothering with in this place, though.

I never attended them, so how am I supposed to tell? I guess quite some people enjoy it, though.

Probably, considering that we're not in Japan right now. But it kinda helps with the morale.

I'm sure we all have enough motivation to work out a way to get back home.. Going back is enough motivation in itself, don't you think?

Some people are just a little thick-headed. Or just plain lazy. Sometimes they learn their lesson after a while, but the people here sure are slow, huh?

You're in that other city, right? Is there anything there that might tell us something?

You mean Dissimulo? Yeah, I'm staying here for the time being. And.. well, I'm not sure what there is to tell. It's hot, there are cougars, it's pretty much a pain.

... Oh, there's some sort of prison building here though. Looks pretty old.

That's why I think Tanabata is a useless tradition. Sure, some people might find it fun, but it's just making wishes that will never be granted.

It's just a festival meant to distract people from their everyday routine.

It's a pretty lousy distraction then. Besides, we have more things to do here than sit around and celebrate festivals.

Pretty much. Even when someone promises to grant your wishes, they're just trying to trick you most of the time either way.

I'm eighteen. That's old enough to have grown out of believing in that sort of stuff already.
