Case File #2 ☁ [video]

[When the SFC turns on, you're greeted to a close-up of Ema's left eye. She sets the device down and steps back, with a grin on her face that's more than a little proud. Her goggles are on and she's wearing a pair of latex gloves; she's holding a white spray bottle and in one hand and what appears to be a white shirt in the other (bandaged) hand. ( Read more... )

[ Color him interested. ]

Didn't think I'd see a little lady with such a keen interest in science. How'd you get your material?

[That "little lady" comment might have grated on her nerves earlier, but she's in an especially good mood right now.]

I buy them myself! And I never leave home without my forensics kit - you never know when you'll find an opportunity to investigate.

[ Pardon him. He likes being playful around girls. ]

That's pretty impressive. Forensics comes pretty handy, I gotta say. Where did you work back home?

[As long as he keeps the compliments coming, then she can let it slide.]

I was a Criminal Affairs detective. Not exactly my ideal job, but I still find the time to sneak in a few tests of my own.

[Wow, the formal name is a pain to remember.]

Luminol? It's the first time I've seen it. That's an amazing substance, Miss Ema!

You're a scientist, then?

[It is! She had to take a minute to memorize the whole thing before making the call.]

Glad to see there are people here that appreciate a little science.

Close! To be precise, I'm a scientific investigator - or, I might as well be one.

[... Oh, Ema. |D ♥]

Scientific investigator? What's the difference?

[If Red looks in the background veeeery carefully, he might be able to see a note card with the formula scribbled across it. Not that she'll ever admit to it, no sir.]

Well, the "scientific" part of forensic science is self-explanatory. But it's not just about running tests and experiments, finding evidence is what forensics is all about. So you investigate the scene of a crime using scientific methods - that's the job of a scientific investigator.

That's a neat pretty trick, Ema! Though I dunno when I'd ever need to test a shirt for blood...

It doesn't just work on fabric; virtually any surface will do!

[It takes her a second to realize it's probably not the shirt he's worried about.]

...but the blood is a bit of a must. I've got some other tools that are a bit more family-friendly, though.

Sounds like you've got a bunch of stuff with you.

[Sora's interest- it's been caught! He doesn't know about this sciency stuff, but if you can bring it down to his level to talk about it, he'll eat it all up!]

...

You can detect blood?

[This is ... actually pretty interesting him considering his whole death-fascination-thing.]

[She's glad! Not about the death fixation - she's not that perceptive - but that she's caught his interest.]

Even if it's been wiped up or washed away - pretty amazing, isnt it?
