Thinking all day of Albert, Melissa's grandfather who spent from the age of 40 on in a psychiatric facility due to the onset of schizophrenia.
I've had the CC song, "Einstein on the Beach" playing in my mind all day. The similarities (other than name, obviously) between these lyrics and things I've heard him say are remarkable.

Oh how sad. Schizophrenia....most often brilliant people are afflicted, aren't they. I'm so sorry, but as you say, soon his mind will finally be at peace.

He actually was a very prolific speaker and very creative painter, even after he was hospitalized. He was gentle and likable too.

It is really sad. I do wish him peace.

Yea, good lyric. It was everything being with my mother when she was on a schiz trip; scary, fascinating, awesome, deep and dark. I wish the man peace and an easy journey.

Those lyrics are by Adam Duritz *swoon*.

I knew that your mom was very ill. I have a really tragic image of her (from some piece of your writing), sitting at a table, very sad, smoking.

Albert is a tragic figure to me also. I hate to dwell on hopelessness, but there are a hell of a lot of suffering, lonely people out there.

Thanks for the kind wishes. I hope and pray that his last days here are peaceful too.

It's always sad when people leave this world, but like you said, hopefully he'll finally find the peace he's undoubtedly been yearning for. Goodbye Albert, have a safe journey into the next world.

How sweet, baby. I hope there is a next world, especially for him and for those who have lived such sad lives here.
