Batten down the hatches, stow the cloth and weigh anchor; there's a typhoon a headin this way...

Seriously. There is a typhoon/monsoon headed for the Gifu area. Guess who still has to go to work.

And I thought Canadians were crazy, what with the going to work in -40 weather. Turns out the Japanese are too :P

Eeek. Good luck with that typhoon. I shall be thinking of you while I am sunbathing on the beaches in the Okanogan. ;)

Turns out that was a false alarm. The typhoon blew up towards Aichi prefecture (Nagoya is technically in Aichi).
How's the Okanogan?

Wow. Are there any special methods of travelling during monsoon season that they practice over there? There's got to be something that lessens the risk of bad stuff happening. It's not still friday the 13th over there, is it?

Can't say as I've noticed anything special. Just lots of "take an earlier train please" because the others might be late.
Not Friday the 13th, but it was a weird day; typhoon - averted, earthquake - happened. Very odd...

Not only a typhoon, but an earthquake too. Just read the story online. Girl you are in trouble. Hope all goes well with you this week.

As said, the typhoon turned out to be, well.. nothing. Woke up in the morning, opened the blind expecting mayhem and distruction, to be greeted by bright sunshine and singing birds. No typhoon. However, we did have an earthquake, but not a big one. Lasted only about 30 seconds. Nothing too major, thankfully :)

I'm glad to hear that one of the clan is having luck (No typhon or serious earthquake). We still haven't had a reasonable offer and the house we were interested in, in Olds turns out to have a basement swimming pool every spring.
Maybe during the typhon season, you should wear lead shoes to keep you anchored :)
