Character Info
Character Name: Milo James Thatch
Character’s Age: 32
Fandom: Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Timeline: Post-movie
Appearance:
Milo is a pretty thin, wimpy-looking guy with light brown hair, big round glasses and a high forehead. He stands at about 5'10". He's already a weedy thing without much muscle, but to make him look even skinner, the majority of his clothes seem to be a little bit bigger than what he actually should be wearing.
...In short, he looks like a total nerd.
He tends to wear very stuffy, professional-looking clothes--bowties! button-up shirts! SWEATER VESTS!--however, on the Atlantean expedition, Milo wears more practical, military-grade clothing. In all cases he tends to gravitate toward earth tones. He wears lots of tans and dark greens and browns. There is one exception, though! At the end of the movie, Milo wears a traditional Atlantean outfit. It's not much more than a blue, wide sash that goes over his shoulder and back, then back down to his knees, a darker blue skirt-type garment that also ends at the knee, and another dark yellow sash that goes around his waist and secures the first blue sash. Milo also never fails to wear his Atlantean pendant, which is a pale blue crystal that glows on its own. By the end of the movie, he's also gotten a tattoo in the form of an electric blue starburst on his left shoulder. He carries around a brown leather man purse satchel, in which can be found the Shepherd's Journal. The Journal is an ancient (but amazingly intact) manuscript that contains a guide to the lost city of Atlantis.

History:
Here! I'll also be taking the official Atlantis timeline as canon (look for everything related to "thatch") which is right over
here! hellpointe game history is below. I'll be specifically marking the names/fandoms of the characters he has had significant CR with:
Milo first arrived in the abandoned seaside town of Bell Pointe on the 33rd day in which people had been sent there. In Bell Pointe, inhabitants sent to live there were designated a house which only they (and their housemates, if they were given any) could open. He eventually found his house--on Bird of Paradise Boulevard--but his only contact with others was a phone call from Grimmjow Jaegerjacques (Bleach). It only made him more confused about the state of the strange town. On Day 34 he went out to explore the town and he promptly ran into Kidagakash Nedakh (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) in the snow. The two of them made their way to their house on Bird of Paradise Boulevard.
The next day (35), he managed to get ahold of the computer provided for residents in their homes, after which a few other townspeople managed to explain to him how computers worked. (Mostly.) He also got some information (and riddles!) from Snake (999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors) about a strange illness that happened to be going around. Later, while searching for the library, he ran into Monkey (Enslaved: Odyssey to the West) and a very distressed, topless, and bloody Regina (Original Character) (who was recently recovering from aformentioned demon/partial demon-affecting illness) on the street. Translating her Welsh into English for Monkey, he befriended the two of them, and they took Regina (who could speak English anyways) to Monkey's house where it was warm.
On that night, Helga Sinclair (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) arrived and made her way to the house that...they unfortunately all had to share. Whoops. Milo stopped Kida from hurting Helga any further and potentially killing her, making sure that the wounded Helga received first aid for her injuries. (Yeaaaah, it was really really awkward.)
The weather only got worse as the days passed; Milo, Kida, and Helga resorted to using extra wooden furniture for firewood by Day 39. Thankfully, Kida and Helga were hunting wild animals for food, and Milo had just stocked up on groceries and clothes for them all--soon, the S-Mart was completely destroyed, resulting in a town-wide food shortage. Rationing kept them okay. He also had a few conversations with people about their different worlds--namely Monkey and Regina.
On Day 40, the town experienced shared dreams. That...was also really awkward, seeing as Helga's dream involving shooting somebody was very obvious. Milo discussed this with Monkey--there had to be some kind of meaning behind these shared dreams and the "iceman" that was mentioned in them.
As the days continued on, the weather changed from snow to rain, and water levels quickly rose. Kida fixed their leaky roof as best as she could (thank God) and Milo did the best he could to help other townspeople pool/conserve supplies. However, Hehsebamon (game NPC) had pinned Garcian Smith (Killer7) and Rufus Shinra (Final Fantasy VII) to a wall in the town convience store, S-Mart, quite gruesomely. Day 50 saw him, Helga, Kida, and a few others removing and burying Garcian and Rufus' bodies.
Just as the town's housekeeping turned out to be zombies, Milo was sent back to Atlantis. He will be arriving in Abax after a week or so of remaining at home.
Personality:
Milo is not a traditional hero by any means. He's weedy, a bit awkward, and not very physically impressive. However, this doesn't mean that he doesn't have enough guts to make up for it. For all his stuttering and outward uncertainty, he is a truly good person with a caring heart. While the other members of the Atlantis expedition were in it for the money, he sought Atlantis because of three things--a lifelong dream, a desire to prove himself and his grandfather, and a quest for knowledge. Milo staunchly supports any cause he believes in, no matter how impossible. He's honest and well-meaning as well as an idealist. The idea of "kill or be killed" is one foreign to him, and he would much rather live and let live than hurt someone for his own benefit.
A big part of who he is is his intelligence and open-mindedness. He's a cunning skilled linguist and cartographer, not to mention that he's got a bit of experience working with and repairing some machines, primarily boilers. He can read and even speak several dead languages. In fact, in his canon, he's one of the top ten linguists in the world. And he knows it well. He's hit the balance between pride and total modesty: though he knows he's smart and is prepared to show it, he won't often flaunt it needlessly. New discoveries fascinate him; if you happen to be nearby when he figures something out, it's likely you'll get an earful from him. (Not much of it will make sense.) Milo genuinely cares about learning and is very eager to share his knowledge with anyone who'll listen.
However, he's more book smart than street smart by a long shot. Milo is clumsy and tends to get himself into trouble. A lot. He isn't very good with many practical things, including driving and fighting, and he mainly gets by with the help of people he trusts and with a whole lot of luck. He also tends to be easy to frustrate. When angered or otherwise upset, especially with another person, Milo resorts to some...very annoying tactics. He is fond of the guilt trip and can be VERY passive aggressive when he doesn't approve of someone. His intelligence does come in handy, though: in a pinch he can easily use his wits to find a solution. He'll never hesitate to use his knowledge if it'll be a benefit in any way. As someone who has made studying different civilizations and eras of peoples his life, as well as having traveled and studied around the world, he appreciates people from all cultures and backgrounds, treating them as equals no matter what. He'd be considered pretty radical in that respect, at least for Edwardian standards. (His crewmates in canon include a female Lieutenant, a female teenage mechanic, a hideous French mole creature, and a Native American/African-American doctor. In 1914. And he only asks about the mechanic's young age once.) Knowledge from the past is of great value to him, too. Milo respects history and acknowledges its tendency to repeat itself: he values all knowledge and often offers insight based upon lessons he's learned from the successes and mistakes of peoples long gone.
Milo is incredibly idealistic, which is both a blessing and a curse. If something's wrong to him, it's wrong; he will very rarely compromise his beliefs for anyone. Even if he's knocked down physically, he won't ever back down in spirit. He'll stubbornly hang onto what he believes is right, no matter what anyone else thinks. As for what he believes is right? His morals are a bit naive, as one would predict for the traditional Disney protagonist; if a moral view grayer than his is exposed to him, it'll take a lot for him to accept it, if he ever accepts it at all. (For example, destroying a whole civilization for a payday but being an otherwise reasonably decent human being? Not cool with him.) Milo's sincere, but a bit gullible as a result of this very, well, Disney world view. While he does understand that the world is not always a bright place, he tends to look on the bright side of things and sometimes pays very dearly for this. Frankly, he's a little oblivious to the intentions of others and can be easily fooled and manipulated as such. This is also a big factor in his romantic pursuits. Or, er. Lack thereof. With women, he's as dense as a brick wall.
Powers/Abilities:
Aside from knowing a ridiculously large amount of languages and being a humongous dork, he's got nothing. Uhh, he swims and climbs pretty well for a squishy academic...?
However, he does have a piece of the Atlantean crystal in the form of a pendant around his neck. The city of Atlantis (including its people) relies upon the strange, supernatural power of the crystal. It is the city's power source, and without it, every man, woman, and child would soon die. Thus, every Atlantean has one small piece of crystal around their neck as a pendant at all times. These pendant crystals connect them to the mother crystal: their life force. It's the reason that Kida's over 8000 years old and still looking like she's in her 20's. Milo, as an honorary member of their society, inherited the crystal of the late king Kashekim Nedakh.
The crystal can heal minor wounds, such as cuts, minor burns, and small bruises. It cannot heal more serous wounds like internal bleeding or broken limbs. Since Milo had only just become a permanent resident of Atlantis by the end of the movie, it's my personal headcanon that he isn't quite connected to the crystal yet, much less to the degree of Kida or any other adult Atlantean. While he can use the crystal, he doesn't have very good control over its healing abilities and would probably need a great deal of concentration to heal even the smallest of injuries.
Limitations:
Because Milo is already not too terribly skilled with healing, I won't be limiting him. Feel free to let me know if I need to change anything :)

Log/Third Person Sample:
Milo's logs at Hellpointe Of course, as soon as he found Atlantis, he'd be torn away.
Of course he couldn't stay in the one place he felt he could call home, the one he'd been dreaming about for--heck, for a lifetime; of course the one place in which he felt he could do some good would be ripped roughly out from beneath his feet.
Knowing his rotten luck? Of course it had to happen that way.
Heavily laden with a stack of thick library books, Milo Thatch wobbled over to the closest table he could find and immediately lightened his load...by dropping everything onto the table at once. This, he soon discovered, was a very bad idea--the entire pile collapsed in a loud clattering of volumes and a shuffling of avalanching papers. (And of course attempting to save the collection would only result in a few books to the face.) Despite his misfortune at ending up in Bell Pointe, he was determined to figure out two things: find out why they'd been brought here and how to get everyone out. After half a week of holing up in the library, though, he hadn't learned much, apart from the fact that learning anything about this town was going to be...difficult.
With a huff, he took a seat and grabbed a now-wrinkled newspaper off the ground. Milo flipped through the pages quickly. Like all the rest of the books and periodicals and magazines he'd torn through these past few days, there wasn't anything substantial to be found in it.
"It shouldn't be this hard to find information about this stupid town!" He threw the newspaper down in anger and grabbed another book. "Maybe I'll have a better chance with this--"
"Milo?"
Kida. His frustration died down as soon as he heard her voice from the other side of the library.
"Yeah, Kida?" he asked, rising.
"This word, I am not sure of the meaning..."
Milo smiled. For the moment, he'd relax. Though he wasn't in Atlantis, having Kida here with him--it was home enough for him.
