Nov 18, 2009 12:09

do other countries have places where you can rent a storage place outside of your home foryour extra junk?
or is it only in america we have so much stuff we can't even fit it all in our houses?

Here in Vancouver BC, there are tons of places. The least you will pay is $100/month so its cheaper to purge all your stuff.

Great question. I've always found the idea of external storage so odd.

me too. Im like, if Im using it so rarely that I can put it away for at least a year, with little access, do I really need it at all?

In South Africa they are very common. There are even waiting lists to get a storage place. Depending on the area it can also get very expensive.

I don't understand people using them for the long-term, but they are very handy when you have been forced to move and have a houseful of stuff, but no house to put it all in!
