Shangrila opinions?

Dec 14, 2012 23:49

Hey guys, the community has been pretty silent lately, other than cutecoil's video of course. Is it because most of us were filled with dread about the album? Well I know I was, but after listening to it a few times It wasn't as bad as I initially thought. Here are my thoughts on each track and the album as a whole.

How bad is it? )

Actually, to be honest, i don't really like a single song except Mr. Liar which is awesome... when i heard it i was really looking forward to the album.... but the rest, i listened to it several times but i don't seem to get used to it...
Don't get me wrong, I still love MUCC to death but these changes, this just isn't the band i used to fall in love with anymore...
I'll rather stick to the old stuff... :(

Yeah I know what you mean. They've been experimenting alot with their sound but until recently, even with all the experimenting they still retained their Mucc-ness. Some of the songs on this new album don't sound like MUCC but sound like generic rock songs. I hope they don't think they they need to change their sound or add tons of Engrish. I mean they've been around for over 10 years, why start catering to the average listener at this point instead of the fans that stuck with them this whole time? The fans that were happy yo let them experiment? I will never understand.

I like the album very much.
It wasn't love at first sight like it was with KARMA, but I liked it. There are many songs that I enjoy listening very often, like MOTHER, Shangri-la, KyōranKyoshō -21st Century Baby-, or Mr. Lair.
The only song I delete every time I listen to the album is ARCADIA because I simply hate it with all my might. It's horrible. But I have already complained about it when the single came out.
So my complain about this album is only one: WHY THE HELL IS ARCADIA IN THE ALBUM AND NOT BLAIR RABBIT?! That song is... God, is amazing! Much better than any of the ones included in this album and it was left behind! And it's not the first time this happens with some MUCC songs (specially the ones that are side-B in some singles and never included in new albums...).

Haha since I love Arcadia I can't agree that it should be off the album but I do agree that Blair Rabbit is much better suited on the album than say Marry you or Pure Black or Nirvana. I feel the same way about Name, but you know these guys. If they start putting their awesome Bsides on albums how will they justify making us buy a b-side collection a few years down the line? I was only missing Shadan dammnit and had to buy an entire album!

I love their new album as well as all other songs ever performed by MUCC. Personally, I like different kinds of music, so the variety of styles in their albums doesn't make a problem for me at all. MUCC is super ;)

Don't get me wrong, I listen to a variety of music and applaud experimentation and don't want all of MUCC's songs to sound like Zetsubou but I just feel that some of these songs don't have the MUCC factor. The reason MUCC is my favourite band is because they are superb at covering a million styles in an amazing way. I hope they continue to experiment in the future but this album seems unfocused to me.

Just listened to it a few times. I like it much better that Karma after a little while, Mr. Liar, You & I, Mother, G.G. and KyōranKyoshō -21st Century Baby are very good tracks. Still don't like Arcadia... Like always I'm curious what's gonna happen next!
