I remember giving my best friend a copy of the epilogue. We decided that if it was for real, we'd vomit. As we stood in line at K Mart with our books, we flipped to the end and got rather upset.
I guess I realised that I'm an adult reading a kid's book and that I have other things in my life to care about. But I was still upset that a series I'd grown up with ended in a way I found quite lacking and uninspired.
Heh... in denial (?) here... i'm still working out ways Severus could have lived... after all, it only says he "stopped moving"... He was definitely smart enough to be prepared with anti-venin and blood replenishing and other such potions. i imagine he got up after everyone deserted him, looked around, said "right!" and decided to take a permanent vacation!
i thought the book was amazing up until the whole big battle bit. it was so...bleh i guess. so i joyfully read it up until the battle, then i prepare myself to read the battle and there's no epiloge in my book. i pretend it's not there, because if i believe hard enough, it'll come true. if i weren't against defacing books i would've ripped out those last few pages A LONG ASS TIME AGO.
I think that should work, although we are in the middle of a switch over to roadrunner. So, if it doesn't try replacing the adelphia.net to roadrunner.com
