My Grandma's been moved to a private room. Our family is withdrawing treatment. She's tachypneic and bradycardic. Her previously swollen left arm is still swollen but now with yellow fluid coming out of her cuts. Her right arm is swollen too and that's new. I suspect nosocomial cellulitis. After what felt like a day through planes and losing my Wednesday... I've arived in Davao. It's very very warm here... and very humid. I was initially sweating due to the increase in moisture... but tolerating it a little better now. It smells, too... a very musty smell of piss is what I'd describe it.. I'm taking a trip to the Philippines to visit my Grandma. She's ill. Primarily diagnosed with pneumonia... then her condition declined and is currently diagnosed with sepsis. She's on a vent and in a critical care unit. I'm hesitant about going. I've heard many horror stories.... and I have no confidence in its health care system ( Read more... )
