You're right about that... I never would've imagined either of us would be engaged at this point in life, but I have always dreamed about being young and in love and staying with one person for all of time, so I wouldn't change this for the world!
BTW, how's military spouse stuff going? b/c my Fern is very interested in pursuing army nursing for at least the 4 year term, and that idea scares me to death :(

Being attatched to the Military is both good and bad. They have A LOT of benefits that last throughout your life. It is awesome knowing that the army is always there and can help you out. I don't know anything about nursing in the army but I 100% the money is great and you get all of the great benefits.
The down side is the deployments of course. Mike is currently deployed in Afghanistan, He comes home for 2 weeks in August then is gone for 6 months. It is hard, but being able to make it through something like this makes the relationship stronger. If you believe you can make it you can.
It is working out well with Mike and I, I will finish FIU with my degree and we will move to his duty station in Alaska. (Moving with teh army has its pros and cons, its awesome to travel but sometimes it's so far from home). He will have 2 more years in when we go there and I will work and work on my Matsers. The military offers AMAZING spouse education help and whatnot.
Let me know what you two decide and if you have any questions :]
