I spent the afternoon helping mom go through piles of documents on dad (legal mostly) and make copies of what was needed.  I am grateful to her for allowing me to see the whole truth, and the evidence for it, but I must say I don't think I should look through that box too often.  I've gotten to a point where I can be emotionally stoic about him, ( Read more... )

I feel like sometimes I use "placing my trust in God" to cop out of making decisions I don't want to make.  I got called on that last night . On one hand, I feel like I've been doing much better with actually trusting God to provide what I need, even if I can't see it at the time, but I don't quite know how to deal with things that I think I might ( Read more... )

I am defining myself by the things I do.  No good.
My academics do not define me.
My voice does not define me.
My looks do not define me.
My talents do not define me.
Others do not define me.

Christ defines me.

I put entirely too much weight on these other things.

Lord, take away my desire for anything that is not of You. 

It is only when I come to Him broken that He can put me back together the way He wants me; the way I was meant to be all along.  Why is it that it is only when I can no longer rely on myself or anything else that I come to Him?  Why does it always take hurt and pain to draw me to Christ ( Read more... )

It's been a while since a real update.  A ton has gone on, but I'm finally settling in to Carolina, and I feel like I have changed a lot since I've gotten here.  Ok, maybe not changed per say, but I feel that I have grown, gotten stronger.  This summer and the beginning of the school year were a crossroads, and I know I have chosen the right path ( Read more... )
