Candlelit Evening
Xenia is picking me up at midnight to take me to the coach to heathrow (she is wonderful). Ben and I have spent the evening around the firepit in a candlelit garden having interesting debates about God, death and scientific discoveries. :)

Simple puddings...
This week I have been cooking new puddings! This is inspired by cook book which I now own having borrowed it from the library last year. End of year meme

Tonight Ben and other Malmesbury folks are off to the dyson christmas uber-party. It feels a bit weird not being there, as I have been to one every year since I was 21. In Woodstock, where I work, they don’t have Christmas lights in the lamp posts, they have fairy lights in the trees. Big old trees. It’s lovely.
Yesterday it gave me my first delightful Christmassy shiver of the year. :-) -
Manners and Christmas Shopping
The other day at lunchtime I was walking back to work and an old man said good afternoon to me and actually dobbed his hat. This made me grin. Is the word ‘dobbed’ by the way? Never normally having a chance to use the word I’m not sure ( Read more... ) -

I was walking along smiling at the mole hills in the verge yesterday, because even though I can't see them they mean there are moles down there. :-)
As a related point, my mum found out a while back that our ancestors on her side of the family used to be mole catchers. Poor moles.
