What can you guys tell me about a memory crystal, used or unused?

Memory crystals? Well... they usually pop up out of nowhere. And when you use them, they always do something strange like change your clothes around, or something like that.

You don't get all of the senses either, just a couple. Like you can hear and touch and smell, but you can't see or taste anything.

I'm asking for anything about them. Malfunctions, discovery, issues with acquiring them, rarity.

I am unaware of any reported malfunctions, although that presupposes that there is a single function in the first instance.

Discovery and acquisition... is at random, or so it appears. There is usually some cost - either material or otherwise.

I cannot speak to their rarity.

I consider not getting every sense a malfunction.
