Id say so. Not that itd be the same. If he was white, it'd probably be about the Hispanic that killed the white kid

The only way a story goes national, using the current metrics as of late, is if the victim was a Hispanic that happened to be a border jumper. That's it. Women are killed every day, but only the more telegenic (re: good looking, young, and sympathetic) make it to the front page and the top headline.

Blacks killing blacks, Hispanics killing Hispanics, etc. tend not make the news primarily because it happens too much.

I think that it would be an issue if it were any race vs any race. People seem to be angry in general and looking for a reason to lash out. Although had it been a black shooter and a white victim, I sadly think it would be less of a question of him being convicted.

Regardless of the race of self-defender and thug-who-underestimated-his-intended-victim, I think that barring high-level demand for a proscution, I don't think that this even would have come to trial.

Ha! I think we see this from different perspectives, so I'll just agree that the media did make this into a much larger issue.

Absolutely true. The media stoked the trial and are NOT being neutral information brokers here.
