I studied probably longer than I needed to - maybe 4 or 5 months before I finally took the test. The computer method I thought was pretty easy and not much different than taking a paper test. I would recommend going back and reviewing some basic formulas and such, but the best piece of advice I can give about the math section is that it's a mc test, so the answer will be right in front of you. You can always plug and chug the numbers if you have to. But I definitely recommend going through a study guide - that's what gave me most of my tips and time saving strategies. Shortcuts are your friend on the GRE. And I feel your pain on the word analogies. :)
Oh, and I echo Abby's sentiment about vocab and practicing on the cd-rom. The math really isn't that difficult, but you can never be too prepared for the verbal. And the cd-rom will make it a little more fun than just memorizing stuff out of a book.

I think mine cost somewhere between $20-30 for the huge study guide and the cd-rom. It's totally worth it.
