Barret followed their adversary silently, casting occasional glances at Vincent to make sure he was in tow as well. It still creeped him out that Sephiroth had body parts skewered on his blade, but he'd seen stranger things. Besides, this visit to Shin-Ra would hopefully prove useful. He would have been more comfortable bringing them to Reeve, but he supposed Shin-Ra Science department was more...equipped for these sort of tests.

He found himself glaring at the Silver-haired man upon his insinuation. That mans' method of persuasion did not sit will with him one bit... "I'll go get Mr. President. Don't bleed on the nice mans' doorstep, it's rude." He snickered before walking past the ex-General, making sure there was significant distance as he went. There was no need to communicate with Vincent--he knew to keep an eye on their nemesis.

Vincent wasn't as amused as Barret seemed to be. Though during their treck here, he had met the large man's eyes whenever he had glanced, the slightest of frowns was still on his features throughout. He was distinctly uncomfortable with the situation, but following them both was better than leaving them to their own devices. The frown deepened briefly at the mention of Sephiroth's persuasion, but he didn't have to shake his head. At least Barret had volunteered himself - he felt more at ease, if only slightly, watching over the Ex-General himself than leaving Barret to it.

He gazed at Sephiroth calmly as Barret parted from them, not sparing a glance at the bodyparts still perched on the tip of Masamune's blade.

Rufus Shinra was decidedly not a morning person -- at least not by design, anyway. Unfortunately, Rufus Shinra was alsoa workaholic, so sacrifices had to be made.

This didn't mean that he was immune to the occasional morning when he was late. That just meant that he would be in an particularly bad mood for the remainder of the workday. Monday, the 22nd was no exception. Looking at the teal flash of light on his dashboard, the numbers reading 7:45, Rufus knew he was going to be a bit late. Thankfully he had no real scheduled meetings, at least not that early in the morning, so there wasn't too much to worry about. Being on top did have its occasional advantages.

Still, he didn't like to make a habit of it.

He could see the top of his building coming up over the horizon and breathed out a small sigh. At least there would be coffee over all the paperwork he had to attend to. Thankfully this early the secretaries knew not to bother him, needlessly, so he'd most likely be alone in his office, and that suited him just fine ( ... )

Sephiroth silently watched with an amused air as he found himself on the receiving end of Barret’s glare. Smiling arrogantly, the silver-haired man forewent giving any form of mock-bow towards the other in favour of not re-opening his wound and causing it to cascade blood again. Instead he chuckled softly as he muttered, “How could I ever forgive myself if that ever happened.” His blood was too good to spill over that fool’s doorstep anyway, and he wouldn’t give Rufus the pleasure of such a thing.

Keeping his sharp gaze trained on Barret as the large man gave him a wide berth around him, Sephiroth’s lips pulled up into a smug smirk. “I do hope your previous wounds aren’t bothering you Valentine.” He smoothly murmured before sending a small glance over his shoulder and back towards Vincent. It looked as though the other man had recovered from them, but that didn’t stop the ex-General from making a comment.
