consider a few things:

1) if you withdraw, you will have a hard time ever getting another program to seriously consider you. so to say you might consider philosophy again in a few years might be a moot point.

2) you can get your phd and then decide not to teach and not to do professional philosophy. with a phd you will have much more bargaining power in whatever line of work you choose.

3) what else are you going to do with your life that will make you happier? if you already have something cooked up, then go for it. but i suspect you don't and that if you are working full time and living alone, your life will suck unless you don't mind exorbitant bar tabs.

Ian can make the kessel run in less then ONE parsec. That being said, he should live in Clinton with me, Steve, and Nick. That is the only place you will find true happiness. We will get a house together, pwn noobs together, and sell blood and crafted odds and ends on the side for cash. Who needs cash anyway!?! Especially when we have each other....and beer.
