What I've REALLY Been Doing Lately...

Feb 10, 2011 19:03

I think that everyone in my RL has now heard, so I can finally post the news here. I've been MIA from here so often this year (and leaving very tiny posts when I do make it on) because my mind has been wrapped up in a lot of other things since July! As you may remember, I posted in the spring or last winter about how Jeff and I were going to start ( Read more... )

Ooooh, sweetie, I soooooo relate to what you've been going through!! We ended up trying for ~2 years before I got pregnant - you're definitely not the only one to go a bit nuts over the situation. I remember especially one friend who, after we'd been trying for a while, told me that she and her hubby were going to try for their third child. She got pregnant and had the baby before I got pregnant. That baby shower was realllllllly hard!! But really, what you've described is also pretty typical - eventually, it's *all* worth it!!

It's kinda funny that you posted this tonight. My "baby" will be 21 tomorrow :-)

I'm ***sooooo*** happy for you and Jeff!! I know the pain you've been thru, but I also know how the joy is now even more precious and amazing! You'll be a great mom, but in the meantime, enjoy alllll those little "firsts" along the way, too :-))))) CONGRATS!!!!! <3

Thanks, Sherry! I can't imagine trying for two years. Six months was stressful enough! It was SO hard to see so many people getting pregnant and having babies and I wasn't. At the time I started in the fall, my school building had six pregnant teachers. It was tough to be surrounded by so many pregnancies, but I hoped that they would rub off on me. ;)

Awww.. congrats on the 21st birthday baby! :)

Congratulations! Now you'll have someone to share all of JKR's books with in a few years!

Thanks, arnel! LOL, I have been wondering how long I should wait to start reading them to my kids. ;)

I started reading PS/SS to my son as a bedtime story when he was seven and we progressed straight through to PoA before he discovered he was a Star Wars fan and wanted to hear tales about those characters. He's now nine and now I'm waiting to hand him books four through seven to read on his own. However, I have a feeling that if we take a long car-based roadtrip somewhere this summer I'll end up reading GoF aloud in the car.

Oh, if you play the piano like I do, you can always start practicing the movie music and using the pictures in the music books to play "Where's Harry?". I did that with my son so I could have a few extra minutes practice time and have some fun with him at the same time. At sixteen months, he could say "Hermione" better than he said "Mommy". Go figure!
