Down time
Wednesday, August 6th I had surgery replacing my right knee. I stayed at the hospital for 6 days then was transfered August 12th to a rehabilitation facility. In the 2 weeks and 3 days I was there, I regained the use of my right leg and was released on August 29th after learning the finer art of using crutches and not falling down stairs.

Sunday morning breakfast
I was up early-ish today and after some amount of time sorting laundry and listening to the radio I decided that I needed nourishment to get my day off to a good start. I hauled the first of three baskets to the laundry two floors down. Starting with my whites and leaving the darks for later, I left the house and got into my little car.

Graduation
I came home tonight and there was a party going on down the street. Graduation party is what I figured. I am reminded that I graduated 40 years ago. What happened to the time? I dont feel old. At least not in my head. The mirror tells a different story. So does my energy.

There is a picture of my cousin Laurel and myself up on the wall behind my computer. She is pregnant with her child. I am still thin in my early thirtys. I have my arm across her shoulders. Her eyes are closed... she is beautiful. I recall we were at a gathering at her brothers house. I also recall her mother (Marlene) was still alive then. ( Read more... ) -

Red Balloon
Strangest thing... I was sitting in my car for lunch yesterday (Satruday) and a red helium balloon wraped itself around the side mirror of my car. There were keys attached to it. Not house keys and not car keys. Like keys to a storage or lock box or something of that nature. Anyone heard of a Balloon release in Portland within the last couple ( Read more... )
