Last night, I sat in the hot tub and tried to catch up on reading while tom entertained Ella inside. She kept coming over to the sliding glass door and blowing me kisses, signing "Mama" and dancing. When I look back at my childhood, I am amazed no one lost any limbs from the secret workshops my brothers would improvise, no necks were snapped from the tree climbing we did daily, no (serious) food poisoning from my food creations...somehow, something always catches us right before we hit the ground.

elijah asked me this the other day *um mom, you know how some kids say "hey mom can i go to the park alone" and their mom says "yes son, and watch out for your brother". Can we try that already?* (i love how formal he ggets when he *writes* a conversation lol, its great to hear him play gi joes or something) I told him not yet, and he was royaly pissed at me, cuz you know 6 is all grown up....
