Changing direction
I was chatting w/my Daughter last night. We were talking about her trip she's going to take next Summer (a trip of a lifetime). She's been chosen to be a Student Ambassador and is going to Europe; France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. Phenomenal experience. Stuff
Boy - I have come to LJ several times to post but then get sidetracked and then forget to do it. It's a quiet, sunny, Saturday morning and I'm here in the kitchen enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee and playing on the Internet before the kids get a hold of the computer.

When it rains - it F***ing pours
Geez...what did I do? I must have done something wrong to have karma kick me in the ass the way that it is right now.

Getting settled
Mom is with us now. Thankfully, things went pretty smoothly when we went to pick her up in Wichita.
The asshole kept calling her that morning though - called her 3 times to see if she was still there - sounded like he was waiting for her to leave so he could get in the house. At this point, I don't care. As long as she's not there anymore.

My head is spinning...
We got a call from the police this afternoon.
The policeman was at my Mom's house. She's been wrapped up with this asshole who has conned, coherced and bullied her into taking all of her money and then some. We knew this was happening but we didn't know how bad it was until today. Apparently this guy had been running loans on the streets. ( Read more... ) -

My Mother is still driving me nuts. She's needing money - which I'm willing to give if/when I have it. But, in talking to her yesterday - she just had to include another little tidbit - I guess to guilt me into helping her more - or help justify why I should help her out of her hole. My Mom is a mess these days. She made friends w/someone she shouldn't and he took all her money - stole checks and her ATM card & cleaned her out. We gave her a bit of money - were planning on giving her more - then she called me Friday - she doesn't have any money at all & her acct is overdrawn.
