I just remembered.....what ever happened to Day by Day Calendar after they sold it? Did they begin setup for this holiday season, did it get merged into another company and re-branded, etc....?

Our store was in a mall, and always operated two calendar kiosks. They were so profitable they kept our store open about 7 years longer than it should have been. Staffing ranged between excellent and horrible. I was in the mall last week. No sign of any calendar kiosk or inline. So perhaps the new owners are planning to operate for only a month or two?

At least the new company put in modern cash registers instead of the crap Borders used. Those old clunkers from BSR should have been scrapped ten years ago.
Like anything "Borders" the people running Day By Day thought they were freakin geniuses because it was one of the few divisions that made money. They never quite figured out that when you buy crap for two bucks and sell it for $13 or more, it's is virtually impossible to lose money.
Last year was the biggest joke of all when they tried to sell Borders gift cards at kiosks. That idea was a total failure. So was the fact that they got too little Justin Bieber which sold like hot cakes. They bought a gazillion Betty White and Twilight. We still had those when the liquidation sales started. Thank God it's over.

LOL. The recycled equipment was crap. The kiosk curtains couldn't be closed because of the busted zippers and tears. But it was better than working in the store.
Borders was never known for having good management in the time I was there. Out at the kiosk I talked most of the people interested in buying Borders gift cards out out of it. Glad I did. I wouldn't want any of them coming after me for selling them a worthless card that no one could use.
I saw two DayByDay kiosks that looked like total crap. They looked like they were never recovered and product kept within categories. At one a clerk was reading a book and the other she was texting furiously.
Obviously Calendar Club has a different idea of what it takes to run these things.

I was in the Mall today and saw the new Go Calendars kiosk. The clerk there has a padded chair, with arm rests, reading a magazine. Wow. We had to stand on our feet all day and count the ceiling tiles.
FUCK YOU ALL! TRY STANDING IN A MALL FOR 8 HOURS, NOT ABLE TO MOVE BEYOND A 6 SQ FOOT AREA, HAND-WRITING RECEIPTS, REPLENISHING FROM THE BASEMENT WITHOUT THE USE OF AN ELEVATOR, AND DEALING WITH THE MOST IDIOTIC, MALCONTENTED,ANNOYING-ASS PEOPLE...CONSTANTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
