Wow, now that's timing!
The cloud cover broke up just about the time the eclipse started. We've had nothing but blue sky (a little bit of haze) for the last 90 min. The eclipse was brief but memorable. And it looks like the sky will remain remarkably clear long enough to see out the other side of the eclipse and then there's solid cloud cover moving in from the west that ( Read more... ) -

It's getting dark outside!
It's getting dark but it isn't due to clouds! There are no clouds to speak of anymore except much further to the west. I go out onto the balcony every 10 minutes or so and the sun is just a crescent now. Only about 20 minutes more to the full eclipse. I suppose there are people who've been watching the sun slowly eclipse the entire time but I'm not ( Read more... ) -

It's coming! I can see the sun sometimes through the clouds and to the west there is nothing but blue sky! There's actually sunshine! Holy shit! It's going to happen. Eclipse news flash!

Well, it's a little less than half an hour before the eclipse begins in my neck of the woods and a little over an hour before the total eclipse and it is already darker than hell and storming like a mofo. So much for having a free ringside seat to the event of the century. I really feel bad for those people who came in all this way to catch it and ( Read more... ) -
The people of Lowe's
I like nearly everyone I work with at Lowe's. I even like the customers much better than those at Walmart (even though some of them might be the same customers). There's just something that comes over people who enter the realms of Mordor Walmart. I got stuck on a register again this morning when someone called in again. The first 2 hrs were spent at self checkout which is sooo boring. After one person came in at 8 I was given the choice to go outside which I jumped on. You'd think by now I'd wise up
I don't know why I press myself to stay awake because 75% of the time it backfires. I tend to get droopy in the early evening but if I press on by 10 or so I'm awake again. I was hoping last night would be an exception but alas, no. I wound up staying up until midnight and then waking up around 4:30 am anyway. I dozed off and on until a little ( Read more... ) -

We had inventory this week and even though I wasn't directly involved in it it's still affected the rest of us because we've been a little short of the kinds of staff that could actually help with customers and everyone has had to pick up the slack.
