Ahhhh... because they call it "Shop light" instead of monolight or soft box.  Oh... and because at OSH everything is painted red & black as opposed to just black from B&H.

I've been taking refuge in movies, yes, but also in Pandora.  I created an ambient station to lull me to sleep, and I created a "Chill Beats" station to keep me focused and concentrated during all of the mayhem.  Yesterday, a song came on that really moved me.  It owes a great deal to the Cure, but I don't care.  I like it anyway, in no small part ( Read more... )

My best friend on campus, Ariel, is being terminated.  She's not even being displaced; she's being terminated... because her intern status isn't up until the summer.  Her last paycheck is July 5 and she just found out today.  She was going to help me run the academy next year; she volunteered to do LINK.  I guess that's done.  The best science ( Read more... )

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers out there.

For my part, I celebrated the day yesterday.  Horseback riding with my mom; dinner with Axo, his mum, and the man; and a late-ish, front-row viewing of Star Trek.  It was a very long, exhausting, and beautiful day.

I explained to my third period today what is going on... with me, with the district, with the walk-out.  They were upset and frustrated by the news.  One kid suggested they write a petition letter.  So ALL OF THEM collaborated to produce this...
