Has it been so long?

I guess it has. Funny thing about time. I easily lose track. Funny thing about life. Things which seemed important can fade like the memory of a nightmare. Things which seemed secure can crumble like the Roman Empire. What used to seem old to me now seems rather young. What was once thought to be permanent is now hardly memorable.

Same random person as before. You sound awfully emo.
I never thought I could speak english, it's something other people insisted I could do. And then when I utterly fail i point and laugh at them for I know that i was right and they were wrong.
I'm going through th alphabet on lj. I don't expect anyone to reply to my messages, but i hope to brighten a few days on my travel :D

What does emo mean? Ever read Bill Bryson's "Mother Tongue"? It's all about the history of the English language. Pretty nifty. There is another one called "Made in America" by the same author. It is partly about the history of English in America, but also about the history of the country. Check 'em out if ya can. Thanks for stopping by.

Emo kids are the teenagers who walk around with dyed black hair, with side fringes that cover one eye, wear t-shirts that r too tight 4 them, and spend their lives listening 2 music, saying how sad the world is, or makin deep and profound insights. U qualify with the deep and profound insights.
My dad has mother tongue somewhere, and i've always intended to read it, but never got round 2 it. My dad's a BIG bill bryson fan, and has good taste, so i shall indeed find time.

sort of emo but maybe a little more poetic 0nceuponatime2 July 7 2005, 18:41:07 UTC
you sound very old and proper. i guess people in london and england and places over there have to speak very grown up and with complete sentences. people in my world just say whatever the hell we want. do you have an accent? because that makes the whole proper language tie together. idk what i am talking about. but if you need any tips about the english language, then i am your man.

Where are you from?
Do you mean to tell me there are london cabbies out there from places other than hackney?
Lordie!
Well, i find that quite an encouraging thing to know, if i ever get into your cab, i'd be pleased to find some good conversation :)

I am sure that not all of those cabbies are from Hackney. I... am not a cabbie. It would be cool. I'd love to have the car, the knowledge and put on my pretty good fake New York accent claiming to be on a cabbie exchange program, but I don't even have a domestic driving license yet.

Leeds? Do you know Science?
