People asked me why I cried on my birthday. Why would I cry on a day meant to be celebrated, to spend it with friends. We age everyday, every passing moment our bodies become frailer, weaker, lose potential that we had not made use of. Why cry on this day? Why cry on your birthday?

I know I've never been a big advocate for the hipster movement, the realist movement, the vegan movement, most bowel movements, or any movement at all for that matter, but it seems to me that it doesn't matter what I think (what a surprise!), and people do, as people do, trying to find out who they are.

I've been asked to start writing a thought journal for my university course, and I'm not really sure how to respond to that. I understand why, collecting out thoughts, examining thought processes and the way we think, and it's not even the fact that this feels incredibly invasive that does it for me, I'm just a bit worried I'll never understand.
