So far, it's been a day shy of one month since I was last at work in a working capacity. Most days have contained high levels of anxiety, ranging through to sheer terror at the thought of pretty much anything

It sounds as though you really ought to be on an invalid's benefit rather than a sickness benefit. You just have to be under the care of a doctor within the last six months (I assume that that's the case) and have an illness or disability that has lasted (or will last) for two years or more, or is terminal.
The amount of invalid's benefit is approximately twice that of the sickness benefit, and you can get accommodation supplement and a disability allowance on top of that.
I strongly recommend that you and Vanessa go and talk to a benefit rights advocate at the Wellington People's Centre. Or phone them if you're not feeling able to go in - their phone number is 385 8596.
Thanks, but I won't qualify for another five months owing to the way it works and hopefully, either ACC will come to the party (which would pay me about four times as much as either benefit), or I may be able to return to work under a settlement (either humen rights case, or employment tribunal.)
In the meantime, I'm trying to get at my retirement savings to make ends meet. Of course, I have to apply to the company who has allowed my manager to commit abuse and discrimination all this time.
Hey man - i was thinking about you and thought i would look you up and see how you are doing.
Im real sorry to hear you've been feeling like you have been and times have been tough - anytime you want someone to talk to you know im always about man - never forget that friends are friends for life.
We should get together sometime and nut out a tune or two for old times sake - i just took a gander at the Hampstertonix website and really liked the rendition of Oak Tree with Serenity singing - what a lovely voice!
all the best man ! nothing but good vibes your way.
