Diamond Freeze
The last week of January was the beginning of Operation Diamond Freeze. The 75th Fires BDE spent two weeks out in the wilderness of Ft. Sill training. It was a big operation. Dallas for the weekend
For the long weekend I'm here in Dallas with the folks. Last night I stopped off at UA and hung out with former students and coworkers. Today I went with the parents on their weekly CostCo pilgrimage. In the afternoon I'm gonna see Green Hornet. I think you get the picture of what this weekend will entail: lots of relaxation. -
Gas Chamber
Today was final day of CBRN instruction. It was capped off with mask confidence training. We go into a room full of CS (tear) gas with gas masks on to teach us to trust our equipment. For the past 2 weeks I have been in the Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear class. We've gone over various chemical agents. Learning how to distinguish between nerve, blood, chokiing, and blister agents from symptoms. We've learned how to use and maintain testing equipment. I'm typing this from my room at Wisteria Hall, Waynesboro. I'm here at this charming B&B for the weekend. I've loaded photos on facebook if you'd like to see.
