Some days I really love my job.  Then some days, like today, somebody uses the word "coopitition" completely unironically and with a straight face, and I feel like I'll never in my life be able to scrub hard enough to remove all this slime.

Neko Case's Middle Cyclone is a fantastic album.

Apparently this is now just a music blog.

The thing that bugs me about Merriweather Post Pavilion is how many people are going to listen to it once all the way through, put My Girls on repeat, and then herald it as the early frontrunner for best "album" of 2009.

So I finally know what I want, but now I don't think it's even an option. I wish I weren't such an idiot about my life. Here's a lesson I've picked up along the way: the only person who can get in the way of your happiness is yourself.

I finally broke through 130 tonight in my one minute heat. I've been getting 130 exactly for about 2 months now, and I haven't been able to beat it. I got 135 tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up and improve. My goal is 140 (maybe 145?) by regionals at the end of March ( Read more... )
