This morning I bought the Norris Bulletin and was able to resolve my footprints-in-the-snow mysteryAccording to the just-published police report, during the snowstorm that began Wednesday evening, January 5, and continued until morning, the police were "called by a resident of Garden Road," who "requested an officer to check on a white male in a ( Read more... )

You solved the case!!!! Good for you. Of course, it took the police to not make contact, but you did the important part.

You amuse me to no end. Your town has the most pleasantly named roads.

It is the truth that I have lived on:

Oak Road
Pine Road
Orchard Road
Dairypond Road
Crescent Road
Hilltop Road
Garden Road
and Dogwood Road.

That's almost every road in town!

I'm glad the mystery is more or less solved, but sleuth Mel really wants to know what Big Boots was doing out on the service road in the frist place.

Ah, well. Life would lose a lot of spice if we find answers to all our questions. :)

Can't wait to hear next week's edition of the Norris Bulletin!

The police station just got a new computer, so our police reports were backed up until January 1, which is why I only saw this item yesterday.

I must admit that I look forward to Thursdays, when the Bulletin comes out!

Yeah, it's creepy to think about someone in all black clothes walking up and down an alley after midnight.

The alley was also snowcovered, which makes me think if he had been a prowler, he was a really dumb prowler, as he was leaving evidence everywhere.

(Why didn't the police notice his tracks leading down to the woods behind my house? That's another mystery.)

Well done, Nancy Drew!

My neighbor called the police on some characters in our neighborhood, and they knocked on my door and asked if I had seen them, too, and if I could describe them. Well, yes, I could. One was a female, about 5'4" tall with dyed blonde hair with dark roots, parted down the middle and shoulder length, straight but flipped up at the ends. The police officer seemed a bit put out and then asked what color of clothing she was wearing.

"She was wearing a faded chambray shirt with flowers embroidered on the collar..."

At this point the police officer rolled his eyes and held up his hand to stop me.

"What color was the shirt?"
"Blue."
"That's all I need to know."

Geez, my observational skills were totally unwanted! Sherlock Holmes would have wanted to know the fabric and about the embroidery.
